How to Bulk Edit Variations in WooCommerce

The whole process of bulk editing variations is pretty straightforward and has the same look and feel like it is a native WooCommerce feature.

It is quite intuitive; however, below is a step-by-step guide on how to do it.

Step 1. Activate the plugin

Once you have installed my “Bulk Edit Variations for WooCommerce” plugin in your WooCommerce store, don’t forget to click the “Activate” button as well.

Activate bulk edit variations for WooCommerce plugin

If you’re using the plugin within a WordPress Multisite network, you can “Network activate” it, but it is not necessary, and it is possible to activate it on every sub-site.

Of course, your sites should already have WooCommerce installed.

Step 2. Edit a variable product with lots of variations

Once the plugin is activated, it is time to go to a specific variable product, the one that probably has a lot of variations.

So, let’s navigate to Products > All products, and then click the “Edit” link near a product you need to edit.

Of course, your products don’t need to have a lot of variations. Even if a product has 10 variations and you simply want to bulk change the prices (for example) of all of them using the plugin, you can still feel free to do it.

Step 3. Filter variations by attributes (optional)

This step is not required in cases when you want to bulk edit all variations of a specific product. In that case, you can just proceed to the next step right away.

Step 4. Bulk edit variations

Once the variations you want to edit are currently displayed, all you need to do is click the “Bulk actions” dropdown list, and from this list choose the “Edit variations” option.

Once you have selected the “Edit variations” option from the list, the modal window will appear:

The modal window contains all the fields you can normally use when you edit each variation individually.

The “SKU” and “GTIN, UPC, EAN, or ISBN” fields are not enabled by default because, normally, WooCommerce doesn’t allow non-unique values for these fields. However, you can change them if, for example, you allow duplicate SKUs on your WooCommerce store.
