Yoast SEO
To make sure that all the post data added by the Yoast SEO plugin is synced correctly by my crossposting plugins, please make sure to install and activate an appropriate add-on below.
For Simple Multisite Crossposting:
This add-on needs to be network-activated for the whole WordPress multisite network.
For a non-multisite version of the plugin, don’t forget about custom fields configuration, which should be done in the first place. Some custom fields Yoast registers by itself, but for some reason, its developers decided not to bother with all the custom fields. The add-on must be installed and activated on the source site (the same site where you have the plugin installed).
How to Crosspost a Primary Category Set via Yoast SEO
If you’re using a “Primary category” feature (not necessarily for categories, but also for any custom taxonomy), you only need to make sure that a category with the same slug exists on your target sites.

Of course, don’t forget about the add-on I mentioned above.
Known Issues of Yoast SEO Plugin
Currently, the Yoast SEO plugin breaks the WordPress/WooCommerce REST API when the following option is enabled:

What does it mean exactly?
- It only affects users of Simple WP Crossposting (not Simple Multisite Crossposting),
- REST API returns error 403, so my plugin just can not access “Site 2” in order to publish or update content there. Or, in some cases, it just partially breaks it by inserting a broken
yoast_headparameter into the response. - The issue was last detected on Yoast SEO 23.2.
- Just uncheck this checkbox, and everything starts to work as expected, or just switch to another SEO plugin 🙂
