2022 Year in Review
Looking back at 2021 year right now, I see that it was one of the greatest years but it ended up in chaos and depression and huge amount of time in 2022 I spent just trying to figure it out.
But anyway 2022 was a year of unexpected travels and hard work mode. I have done a lot of things I was struggling (or postponing) to do for years! Have visited 7 new countries and first time in my life tasted how it is to be a digital nomad.
Now let’s dive into the details ;)
Site Redesign is Finally Finished
Guys, I started website redesign, you don’t believe me, in 2016. So for almost 7 years I was fighting with my perfectionism trying to make the website perfect.
The final version of design was started in October of 2021 and finished in August of 2022. I got some kind of unexplainable inspiration in May and finished everything in four months. Yes, it looks like I am the worst client for myself. Ahaha, well, when next time I decide to create any new website for myself, I think I just should read this part.

Met my Friend in the Airport on Tesla
Almost forgot about this. No, I didn’t buy a Tesla but it was a really meaningful moment for me. Because I started driving by the end of 2021, thanks to my friend Polina, so I rented Tesla to meet her and that was kind of celebration that my education had been finished.
Just look how magical it is!
Nomadic Lifestyle
Within this whole year I’ve been in 11 countries – UAE 🇦🇪, Tajikistan 🇹🇯, Georgia 🇬🇪, Finland 🇫🇮, Norway 🇳🇴, Luxemburg 🇱🇺, Germany 🇩🇪 (multiple times), France 🇫🇷, Greece 🇬🇷, Italy 🇮🇹 (volunteered at WordCamp Italia) and Turkey 🇹🇷. Have never been in more than half of them before.
And I was living more than a month in Tbilisi, Athens and Istanbul (each of them).
In this chapter I could add tons of photos, but I don’t want to get you distracted from the main ideas.
New Plugins
Published 5 new plugins and released a lot of updates for the existing ones.
- Simple Variation Swatches – once upon a time I needed to create a super simple variation swatches solution for one of my projects and you know what? I could not find a good plugin for that. So here it is.
- Simple Crypto Gateway for WooCommerce – it is kind of an experiment for now, but this plugin allows your customers to pay for products with Tether (TRC20 network).
- Simple WordPress Crossposting – it is a non-multisite version of my Simple Multisite Crossposting plugin, was developed by a customer request.
- Simple Cart Autoupdate – just as an addition to one of my tutorials.
- Simple Product Stock Sync – also a great solution developed by a customer request.
I am completely agreed that you always have to make a priority on quality over quantity. But as you can see some plugins were developed by customer requests, the rest of them I created for my own projects.
I think the most amount of the work with plugins had been made when I was living in Athens for a little more than a month. I was super focused there. By the way I can recommend you a great coffee shop in Athens where it is so convenient to work, its name is Third Place.

Writing
I have updated 103 old posts on the website. Published 37 new posts (it is more than in 2020 and 2021 years combined).
I don’t set writing goals for myself anymore. I think that it would be cool to publish posts once per week but I only follow this schedule if I really have something great to share with you.
Conclusion
That was a long long year, full of uncertainty, adversity and even moments when I was afraid for my life. Good news that I got my productivity unlocked. I don’t even have a clue what led to it, somehow, at some moments I just had a desire to do more with my sites.
Nothing really happened in my personal life, I just had a plenty of really good moments with my friends, team (they are also friends) and family, that’s pretty much it. There was an interesting moment though, somewhere in Tajikistan when I unlocked my another superpower, but it haven’t yet come back to me anymore.
